Das Hauthorn ist eine kompakte Keratinausstülpung. In etwa 20% der Fälle verbirgt sich an der Basis ein Plattenepithelkarzinom oder eine andere prämaligne Läsion. Daher sollte jedes Hauthorn entfernt und histologisch untersucht werden.
