ल्यूकोप्लाकिया oral mucosa पर सफ़ेद patch या plaque है जो रगड़ने से नहीं हटता। यह potentially premalignant lesion मानी जाती है। Smoking और तंबाकू (gutka, paan masala, खैनी) main risk factor हैं — यह भारत में extremely common कारण है। 5-17% cases oral SCC में progress कर सकते हैं, इसलिए biopsy ज़रूरी है।
