ल्यूकोप्लाकिया
ल्यूकोप्लाकिया oral mucosa पर सफ़ेद patch या plaque है जो रगड़ने से नहीं हटता। यह potentially premalignant lesion मानी जाती है। Smoking और तंबाकू (gutka, paan masala, खैनी) main risk factor हैं — यह भारत में extremely common कारण है। 5-17% cases oral SCC में progress कर सकते हैं, इसलिए biopsy ज़रूरी है।

एरिथ्रोप्लासिया oral या genital mucosa पर लाल patch या plaque है। यह ल्यूकोप्लाकिया से कहीं ज़्यादा malignant transformation की संभावना रखता है — लगभग 50% cases में biopsy पर high-grade dysplasia या in situ carcinoma मिलता है। हर erythroplasia की biopsy ज़रूरी है।
